What is Multimedia?
‘How do you define multimedia in today’s e-learnign context?’
When referring to the internet, I would say that multimedia is the use of a variety of technology on the one webpage. An example of this is the nine msn webpage. It has a variety of different options, such as vodcasts, links to other webpages of interest, moving advertisments, text writing, search options amongst others.
We looked at a couple of interactive vidoes in class, one on negotiating which offered both visual and text. This is an example of multimedia used in a learning situation.
Benefits of using multimedia for learning includes:
- Keeping participants interested.
- Increasing what they will remember.
- Variety.
- Provides people with options in regards to their learning styles.
